Admissions
Thank you for your interest in a place at Landon School Harmondsworth. We admit children and young people aged 5 to 18 who have a primary diagnosis of autism, severe learning difficulties and an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
How placements are made
Almost all placements at Landon are made through a consultation from the child's home local authority. If you believe Landon may be the right school for your child, the first step is to speak to your local authority SEND team and ask them to consult with us, or to name Landon School as your preferred setting at your child's annual review or during an EHC needs assessment.
When we receive a consultation, we follow a clear process:
- We review the consultation paperwork, including the EHCP and supporting reports, to consider whether we can meet the child's needs.
- Where appropriate, we invite the family to visit and arrange to meet or observe the child.
- We respond formally to the local authority. If we can meet need and a place is available, we confirm this together with any provision requirements.
- Once the local authority names Landon in the EHCP, we agree a personalised transition plan with the family, which may include visits, social stories, transition days and a phased start.
Full details are set out in our Admissions Policy, available on our Policies page.
