E-Safety
Technology plays a valuable role in our pupils' learning and communication – and keeping children safe online is as important as keeping them safe anywhere else. Autistic children and young people can be particularly vulnerable online, and we take a proactive, personalised approach to online safety.
How we keep pupils safe online at school
- Filtered and monitored internet access on all school devices and networks.
- Online safety taught through the curriculum at a level each pupil can access, using visual supports, social stories and repeated, practical teaching.
- Clear staff policies on acceptable use, mobile devices and taking images, set out in our policies on the Policies page.
- Regular staff training so that everyone can recognise and respond to online risks.
How you can help at home
- Use parental controls on home broadband, devices, apps and games consoles, and keep them up to date.
- Keep devices in shared family spaces where possible, and build screen use into predictable routines.
- Talk with your child, at their level of understanding, about what they watch and play, and who they interact with.
- Check age ratings for games and apps, and review privacy settings together.
