Vision & Values
Our vision
To create a safe, nurturing and ambitious environment where pupils are valued for who they are and challenged to achieve their very best – so that every young person can lead a happy, full and, as far as possible, independent adult life.
Our ethos: Safe. Happy. Learning.
Three words underpin everything we do at Landon.
- Safe – children learn best when they feel secure. We provide a predictable, low-arousal environment, consistent routines and trusted relationships, underpinned by rigorous safeguarding.
- Happy – wellbeing comes first. We celebrate each pupil's individuality, build on their interests and make school a place they want to be.
- Learning – when pupils are safe and happy, they can learn. We set ambitious, personalised goals and use research-based approaches to help every learner make progress from their own starting point.
Our values
- Caring – we treat every child, family and colleague with warmth, dignity and respect.
- Student-centred – every decision starts with the question: what is best for this child?
- Ambitious – we never place a ceiling on what our pupils can achieve.
Our aims
We aim to educate children and young people aged 5 to 18 with autism and severe learning difficulties so that they reach their maximum potential, irrespective of their starting point in life, and to support each of them on their journey towards a safe and happy adult life.
Landon School seeks to improve continuously, innovating with best educational practice. We wish to be recognised as a leading specialist school in the UK by providing each pupil with the best possible life that they can lead.
