Our Advisory Board

Landon School is supported and challenged by an Advisory Board of experienced professionals from education, law and school governance. The Board provides independent scrutiny of the school's work, supports the leadership team, and helps ensure that Landon meets its legal and regulatory responsibilities while continuing to improve.

Andy Thompson – Proprietor

Andy has significant chief executive experience and, since 2010, has been an investor in education as well as supervision experience across Europe. He owns and leads Landon Education Group Ltd, which operates Landon School in the UK alongside international schools in Hungary. For six years, Andy supervised the American School of Barcelona, a 1,000-student international independent school. His extensive background in educational leadership and strategic oversight brings invaluable expertise to the development and growth of Landon School.

Katie Thompson – Proprietor's Agent

Katie is a Corporate Associate at Farrer & Co, the London law firm. Having completed a law degree and the Legal Practice Course, she provides direction and support in ensuring that Landon School operates within its legal and regulatory parameters.

Dr Penny Barratt OBE

Until her recent semi-retirement, Penny was the Chief Executive of The Bridge Trust, a multi-academy trust of specialist schools based in Islington, North London. She brings long experience of leading provision for children and young people with autism and severe learning difficulties, and of maintaining quality and consistency across several schools as a trust grows.

Lee Helyer

Lee is Headteacher of Kingsley High School in Harrow, a community special school for students aged 11 to 19. He brings current experience of leading a special school through the secondary and Post-16 phases, which supports the Board's scrutiny of teaching, learning and the curriculum at Landon.

Gary Wilkie

Gary is the founding Chief Executive of the Learning in Harmony Trust, set up by two Newham schools, Sheringham Primary School and JFK Special School, and now made up of 14 primary, special and early years settings across London and Southend. He began teaching in Newham in 1989 and was Headteacher of Sheringham Primary School from 2000 to 2014. Gary brings long experience of school and trust leadership, governance and growth, including the leadership of special schools.
